Pull a plug and ground against head, crank and watch for spark. No spark?
Check handlebar mounted kill switch.

Subject: 748  just will not start
Greeting all,

I have had a 97 748 since 1998  and while she has not been trouble free
over the last 40K miles she does always start..But not today..She did run
back in November when I did the oil and filter.

The battery is good and she does prime when I it click it to start.  I
changed the relays under the seat any way As I had them and they have
failed in the past. I also put in fresh plugs just in case.

The main and starter fuses are good but WTH I changed them any way.
Fuel lines are tight and secure under the tank  and the battery
connections are clean and tight.

I though I would ask for ideas of things to check as the only other thing
I can think of is the hall effect sensor spacing..I have not check that yet
though..

Any other ideas?  The bike cranks but will not pop or bang even with ether
starter fluid witch leave me to think it may be an ignition issue.

Many thanks for your input..

Eric

Check the ignition relay, I think its the yellow one on the right side, I
had the issue where it would light up, prime but would not start and this
was the culprit.
