Problem is if that's what happened, MM a) could and might do it again and b) very well might win the championship because of the points padding he got and how this is all likely to entrench itself in Dovi's head. I think JL was so excited to be near the front for a change, he over cooked it , lost the front end, and then ... Honda put new knee grippers on JL's tank and he finally felt secure in the saddle, hence his new found pace....
