Ducati owners,
I want to tell you about a special offer to help my stepson Russ Granger and his new bride Kim.
Some of you may know Russ Granger and know what a good guy he is. He was a passenger in a sidecar race at California's Buttonwillow Raceway last July when, at about 100 mph, the sidecar flipped and pitched Russ dozens of feet through the air. He had multiple injuries, most tragically a broken back with a Spinal Cord Injury.
Russ will recover from his other injuries, but not from the SCI. He is now paralyzed at the T10 level down (that’s right at the navel). He will be using a wheelchair for the rest of his life. I’ve been through this and I know: it doesn’t matter what medical insurance you have, it’s expensive.
When Lee Klancher, the publisher at Octane Press, heard about Russ’ injury he made an offer. All profits from the sale of my book Racing the Gods during December will be added to Russ and Kim’s Go Fund Me medical fund.
You need to order from the publisher at https://octanepress.com/book/racing-gods. You can get a cool Christmas present for your motorcycling friends (or yourself) and help Russ and Kim at the same time. Thanks.

Very sorry to hear of Russ' injury. That was very generous of Lee and yourself! I was going to order it anyway so this was just an extra incentive to finally do it!
Thanks for letting us know.

Paul, very sorry to hear of this.
I just ordered your book from the publisher. I intend to gift it to a
friend, as I already have a copy in print and an ebook.
It was a pleasure meeting you at Vicki's "fly on the wall" gathering at
Barber a few years ago.
My best to you and your family in the future.

I just ordered it too. Very very sorry for this tragic event.
I cannot but add my two cents about the U.S. private insurance system, which is totally inadequate to deal with such life-impairing medical emergencies (whether serious accidents or illnesses) and the associated life-long medical care that they imply. That is in fact the main cause of personal bankruptcies in the U.S. That is why this country badly needs to adopt a national health care system, which all other developed countries in the world have. Private insurance can still remain available on top of that, if people want fancier options, just as in any other country.
I’d like to hear what you Paul think about this issue based on your personal and now also family experiences. Here, if list members do not object or, if they do, then bilaterally at my email address.
Warm greetings, Gianni
