For people who use the control room:
Hi all,
This morning during Morning Cup, the broadcast board failed. What was on
air continued to broadcast (we lost our stream, though). However, Neal had
no control and couldn’t hear what was running on air.
If that happens again while you’re on the air, you’ll need to switch
control to the Production Studio. Here’s how (it’s easy):
1a. If you’re running news or a network show: Immediately go to Production
and turn on and pot up the Content Depot channel
1b. If you’re doing a music show: go to Production and queue up a song
Go into the satellite room and in Rack 3 find the unit labeled “Manual
Air Feed Selector Salvo 1-5” (label is on the right side of the unit, which
is about 5 feet up the rack)
Click on the button labeled “Prod-Pgm to Air” (this turns the Production
Studio into the control room)
3a. If you’re running news or a network show: Carry on with your shift from
Production
3.b. If you’re doing a music show: Pot up and start your CD in Production
then continue your show from there

FYI: there is a KCBX phone directory with the engineers’ and staff numbers
in the following locations:
MCR - in a yellow folder in the rack on the back wall
Production - pinned to the back wall
Studio X - pinned to the left wall
Satellite Room- on the bulletin board to the right
Kitchen – on the bulletin board near the phone
I’m going to put these instructions on the bulletin board in the MCR, so
they’re handy. Please let Hank know if you have any questions.
Thanks!
