Eric.the lever is easily removed by pulling on it and the plunger remains in the correct position. The factory version comes with the wiring attached so I cut the pigtail from the original unit and soldered on the appropriate spade lugs. I can now replace the switch in a matter of minutes without having to remove the fairing. Keith
