convert to the Church of Ducati, or just a fun refresher for us old farts
who read this when it came out in Cycle World back in 1995 (27 frickin
years ago!)

Both my son and I owned a 95 900 SS/SP.  We both have very fond memories of
the joy they brought to us.  Of course life marches on and they are both
gone now.

Gosh, Jim, I hope you mean both of the 900s, and not the 900 and your son!
Life does go on, then it doesn't. When I think about the issues I have with
my body due to falling off motorcycles and mountains, I go back to my
original plan: to get as close as I can to using up my entire body by the
time I die and don't need it anymore; anything else would be a waste.
