Christian I’ll chime in here as well. My brain never has and perhaps never
will recover from a Trumatic brain injury when I went face first into an
SUV at 50 miles an hour back in 2006 and a helicopter ride to the hospital
and the police blame to me because the perpetrator was here illegally and
too hard to punish so they decided I was at fault. It took a lot of lawyers
to get that straightened out. Ok one lawyer.  Was charged with a felony.
Yep.
Going 50 in a 55. straight. Sober as hell.

and people would ask me how can I ride after going through all of that. oh
also my passenger flew over the car suffered permanent damage as well.
At any rate my response was universal after about the third or fourth time
being asked that question that this gentleman who hit me took away my
ability to earn income caused me massive amounts of pain massive amounts of
expense and  my quality of life permanently suffered but I’m not letting
him take motorcycling away from me as well.  not if I have a choice.
not a single person has ever questioned that response but again that’s
just me. I wish you the best in your healing and I wish you the best in
your in the choices that you make,  my friend.

Only you can do you. As my slow riding buddy who thinks I’m crazy likes to
say.

Ride well.

Gabriel.

5 1/2 years ago I was involved in a "single vehicle" accident. I woke up in
a Lifeflight helicopter on the way to a nearby trauma hospital. I have no
recollection of the incident to this day. Damage to my SS100DS was about
$1500.00, mostly cosmetic. Damage to me was a bit more extensive. 2 broken
ankles, badly scraped knee and elbow on my left side along with a
concussion. I figure some day events of that day might pop into my head, to
this time not a clue.
I repaired the SS and logged a couple thousand miles on her but never got a
comfort level back on the machine. About a 2  months ago I listed it on
Craigslist locally and had many interested parties. I worked a deal with
one of them and away she went with a new owner.
It was a 13 year love affair ..... sometimes relationships don't work
forever. I have to say I really don't miss her much. Now I ride my Concours
and M750 Duc a bunch more and am totally comfortable and confident on
either.
But a new love has entered my life in the form of a 32 Ford 1/2 ton pickup
truck, a streetrod project. So you never know how things will work out!
Keep moving on!

Steve
