Thanks Len!  I had seen your clip on Mary from the newspaper before, but not the one on Hugh.  Hugh has no connection with my wife’s family.

There are two deeds that refer to Mary’s property and sale (1833 Book 15, no. 230 and 1941 Book 2, deed 230): it would be nice to find more of the paperwork involving the case, to know what happened.

In case you were interested for your collection of Tyrone data, there are some bits of info on p.3 of the attached document on Armar Moffatt and his family in Strabane (including deed reference numbers) [it will be published in Directory of Irish family History research next year].  There are several deeds involving them and his wife’s family, Knox.  Most of them mention the locations of their properties in some detail (see other attachment).  I was almost tempted to do some more research on the Knox family, but without access to church records there would be too many holes – and they are not on my wife’s lineage anyway.  There are at least three generations in Strabane deeds, and I suspect they are linked to the Knoxes of Dungannon.  I also attach the one map that I have managed to access, but it is 1883, after the church had been built and no doubt many other changes had been made.

Best wishes
Roger
