I'm SUPER enthusiastic about this album, and it's because I think Lizzie No
has something going on that's out of the ordinary. It's on the Thirty
Tigers label, which has a reputation for finding cutting-edge coolness.

I had never heard of her until Neal put this in the stacks, and it's
definitely one of my favorites of the year so far.

This album covers a LOT of ground, from flat-out rockers like "Lagunitas"
to sweet breakup songs like "Sleeping in the Next Room" to gentle protest
songs like "Babylon". She tells stories with allusion, rather than waxing
overtly confessional, which is really refreshing with some of the heavy
topics some recent, very popular releases have touched on.

The title track is EPIC - starts out slow, but gets huge mid-song. I also
really like "Shield and Sword" as a sort of time-capsule of where folk
music is right now.

There are a ton of reviews online, all positive, but here's just one:  No
Depression: SPOTLIGHT: Lizzie No
