Hello Everyone,
Just today I have received two offline requests for assistance from confused County Tyrone researchers who have unfortunately referred to the old, now non-active, website (Rootsweb) which has had no new additions since 2020.
PLEASE use only the current and fully indexed CoTyroneIreland www.cotyroneireland.comhttp://www.cotyroneireland.com/ as your research tool to which Jim and I contribute new additions daily.
I should also state here that the essential INDEXES for all surviving TITHE APPLOTMENT BOOKS for Co. Tyrone parishes have been transcribed and uploaded on CTI www.cotyroneireland.com/tithe/titheindex.htmlhttp://www.cotyroneireland.com/tithe/titheindex.html When a forebear is located using these indexes, it is possible to download actual images through the PRONI, Belfast ecatalogue.
County Tyrone is in Northern Ireland and therefore relevant and essential genealogical records are located in PRONI, Belfast and not the National Archives and National Library of Ireland, Dublin.
Please remember to use www.cotyroneireland.comhttp://www.cotyroneireland.com/ as your research tool and first port of call ; we offer in excess of 4,000 files of genealogical records.
All good wishes,
Len Swindley, Melbourne, Australia
