Len Swindley,
Thank YOU for ALL you contribute!!!!
(We haven't found Barabra Stevenson Allen- yet! But, not giving up. I am
still hoping to get some records from the Carnowen Presbysterain Church.
We did meet the Clerk and a few members at the Service on 11 September, it
will be an ongoing project.)
All the best!

Thank you, Valerie.
Hope the weather was good while you were in Ireland and enjoyed the forty shades of green. East Donegal is a truly beautiful part of Ulster.
While it may not be possible to locate any further information regarding your forebear Barbara Stevenson Allen, just being familiar with the neighbourhood in which she was raised is something that all genealogist wish for. On a personal note, I have located just one church record (1833) for my maternal forebear and her family from Strabane, Co Tyrone (five daughters to Melbourne, Australia and four sons to "America") (1788-1845). The entire family had left Ireland by 1850. Most fortunately, the paucity of useful church registers has been compensated by numerous personal notices and items of news inserted in the Strabane, Londonderry and Belfast newspapers 1787-1844. The moral is to just keep looking........!
CTI would be pleased to receive any further data re. Carnone congregation if that is going to be possible.
All good wishes, Valerie,
Len Swindley

Hello Len,
It WAS really special to see the places/area in which Barbara and Henry
were born and raised.
Through my reading and with *all *the help you and others at CTL have
provided, I have a better appreciation for the challenges of their lives.
I did meet Liz Sheppard, the granddaughter of Rev. J.P. Dickey, she lives
in the family home in Carnowen, just up the road from the Carone/Carnowen
Presbysterian Church. And, YES! If I am able to obtain the cooperation of
the Church Clerk and obtain any records, I will ask to share them with
CTL. Liz didn't have anything from the date range that I am interested in,
but I have asked if she would provide a copy of the one item she did have
for a later time. Cross our fingers!
I continue to be in awe of all your work!
Stay well!
Valerie
