Just got this off Quora -- sadly I think most moto guys know those kind of drivers too well... and fear the most:
QUESTION:
As a police officer, what situation made it hard for you to keep a straight face?
ANSWER (by a former CA Police Officer):
Once I responded to a fender bender -- a rear-ender at a traffic light.
I first asked the front driver what happened, and he said; "I'll be darned if I know. We were both stopped for the red light. The light went green, but before I could get from the brake to the gas, WHAM. She hit me from behind."
Then I went to the lady. Same question; what happened? She spoke broken English. All she would tell me is; "light green, I go."
No matter how I tried to ask about the stopped car directly in front of her, all she would say is "light green, I go."
Yes, she did have a valid driver's license.
I just shook my head as I wrote her citation. I told her that perhaps she'd have better luck explaining it to a judge.
