Any naughty boys (lasses) who crossed the Irish Sea perhaps ....?

Dear friends and colleagues

Stalwart blog writer Dick Eastman has drawn my attention to an announcement
by Glasgow-based genealogists Emma and Graham Maxwell who have added to
their portal for Scottish prison records.

These can be searched, e.g. by "Place of Birth" - I tried "Ireland" and
"Londonderry" ("Derry") and got several hits.  ("Tyrone" didn't seem to
work.)

Unfortunately (or is it fortunately!) I found no hits for the key surnames
I'm pursuing (and one fellow I know was a "naughty boy", at least with the
lassies!)

Glasgow, Scotland - In a continuation of their Scotland's Criminal Database
project, Glasgow based genealogists Emma and Graham Maxwell have released an
index to a further 43,000 historical Scottish Prison records.

In any event, a reminder of the tough times many folks experienced in trying
to "live a life" and to make ends meet ..

Hope someone will find a lucky hit or a missing relative.

Kind regards

Thanks for this Dave. I have had a very quick look at these court records and had no trouble in locating many records for those who gave their place of birth as Londonderry/ Derry, Donegal, Tyrone and Fermanagh. A great resource for those whose forebears emigrated to Glasgow.
