Replacement bike ponderings (maybe Ducati content)

3 years ago I bought a low mileage a 2009 R1200RT, initially with the
thought it'd be a 2 up bike.  It has now become my go to bike for any trip
over a day.  I've been pleasantly surprised how well it handles, even with
that weird Telelever thing on the front!  I don't know what year the RT
gained more electronic wizardry, maybe 2011 or 12, but all mine has is
ABS.  Does have the electric windshield, heated grips and seat, cruise
control(which is great for a cramping right hand), a couple of trip
odometers, a couple of plugins for heated gear-in other words all I would
want in terms of accessories.  And oh yeah, mine has a lowered suspension
which works fine for my 30" inseam.

I rode a 2019 model (normal ride height)at a demo last week.  I think the
LC models are about 40lb heavier and they definitely have a lot more
electronic farkles including a really slick clutchless upshift/downshift
mechanism, electtronic suspension adjustment, and all the latest nanny
electronics.  My old RT(now with 44,000 miles) still felt pretty good when
I got on it afterwards!

I should add Steve that the 1600B is a very good bike just not my style, too sanitary for me. I've done 2 test rides on it most integrated blue tooth system I've seen.  If BMW becomes an option I would definitely recommend at least a test ride on the 1600B. - Gene

Colin,

You and I are about to become best friends.  My RT is an 09 too.

Will ping you offlist.  And I'm going to make STeve ride mine before he
settles on anything else.
