Thanks, Kevin. Based on your self proclaimed miserably bad results, I will
set my pics as follows:
All three of your contenders taken out by this terrible tear-off debacle,
Fabio’s engine ingesting one, Rossi gagging on one that gets inside his
helmet(still waiting for Lan to develop the edible ones), and Morbi losing
the front on one and crashing without injury……..
Lecuona 1st
Marquez 2nd
Dovi 3rd
Fastest lap by Bradl

Glad I got up for this one, an odd but exciting race.
So, as she usually does, Vicki got it right with Joan Mir looking like the
next big thing. A little better qualifying, and he's on the top step.
Very sad to see the Ducati incident in the first lap and Rossi's crash
later in the race. I was also hoping T Nakagami could move up a few more
places.

Wild race. This season has become wildly effected by tires designed and built for a season and especially, race dates that all changed. The tires this weekend were built for a different track date and the guys still up on two at the end were all riding like they were on eggs. The challenges of this championship are ongoing and endless. That Marquez is openly criticizing the title front runners for being unable to lock down the championship is kind of funny to me. He was one of the first to flunk the 2020 challenge. (Sorry Lan, I know you feel differently).
This season will go to the rider that adapts their riding style, each weekend, to the tires. That stays on the bike and avoids taking a bad bounce and falling from the Gods to watch the race from the sidelines with the rest of us mere humans. Looking at the points now it’s clear that the championship is seriously up for grabs. Could this be the year Suzuki wins the championship? Right now I wouldn’t bet against it given the way 2020 just keeps on dishing out the unimaginable :-)

Vicki, you’ve said a number of times how much the tires matter nowadays, and today's race couldn't have illustrated it more. This was the biggest coulda/shoulda/wouda race in a long time-I said to Pags early this morning that I was betting on Rossi’s lifetime of tire management skills to bring home the win today, and it certainly was a possibility until his unfortunate fall. I think 2 more laps and Mir would have had his maiden win-Fabio won fair and square, but I’m sure he was very happy the checkered flag came out when it did. As you speculated, Mir could be a surprise contender for top spot at the end of the season. He’s been so darn consistent-and we know that consistent is what builds championships……

Agree on all counts, but Fabio threw this away early, and now that it's
back in his sights, I think he's going to hold on to it this time. He
certainly reacted that way after the race.
And seriously - WTF with Vinales? I finally believed in him, picked him to
win, and he screwed the start up so bad, I thought I was watching an
amateur launch. That dude can't put it together on race day (way more
often than not).

Viñales needs a new career. He looks like the great white hopeless to me. I
don't understand why he still has a seat.

Dovi, Dovi, oh Dovi. Glad for Mir and Rins and Suzuki.
Its all good for racing. Can't wait for MM93 to return now that
virtually the entire rest of the field know that they can win too.

You all know that when MM93 comes back, he'll spank them all, and show them
what real racing looks like, on the way to his next string of victories.
I had to try and get the jump on Lan with this one. Actually, I'm hoping
that MM93 comes back to find a field that gives him more competition, and
that he, in return, sdescalates the racing up to a new level.
And, I think the technology, particularly tires, has the sport at too much
of a razor's edge. Can we drop back to tires that don't work quite so well
under expected conditions, but work pretty well under many conditions?
Jeez, now we have riders washing out because a cloud has dropped the track
temperature 10 degrees for 2 turns. No, wait. I know what they'll do, maybe
doing already; have engine mapping that can account for these factors on
the fly. Pretty soon, we won't need riders anymore - wait, how did I get
here? I'd be up for one race in the season that is on 2 stroke 500s, with
no computers or TC or ABS or Launch Control, just brakes and throttles.

HaHaHa! You know it, KK!
Commentator jinxed VR. He was already anticipating it,(lol who isn’t
really?) that bastard. IIRC when Oliveira crashed, the commentary
immediately screamed and stopped himself halfway..
Rossi has craaaaa.!!
Looked like VR tried to catch quartararro for the win. Didn’t wanna settle
for 2nd. I mean who does, unless the rider knows for sure he’s got nothing
left...
His riding style changed a bit going in/out of the corner trying to save
his tires for the last few laps. Man, I was really looking forward to that
battle.
Mapping 2? Who the hell the knows what that could be.
