James Creighton Ball was a gentleman farmer in the townland of Shannon, Clonleigh Parish, Co. Donegal and grandson of the Rev. John Ball (1681-1739), Presbyterian minister of the parish (Ballindrait Church) 1706-1739. James C. Ball seems to have delayed his departure from Ireland as he is still listed as gentry in the 1839 Strabane Directory. I am interested as to where he emigrated as it has been possible to locate the marriages and deaths of his children in Australia and New Zealand, but no references to him in Australia. If anyone can assist, I shall add the data to the above file.
