I know you guys know we can't talk about politics here.  Right now everyone that is involved in getting ready to take part in a race weekend at COTA are hard at it. That includes Ducati North America (who is planning on the best Ducati Island ever) and me. As far as we all know it's on and we are going to be ready. I think short of the State of Texas or the whole USA calling off all public events COTA is happening.  If it gets called off for that reason, I'm thinking no COTA at that point is the least of the disruption we will all be experiencing. I just had this conversation with my wife this evening, who is a surgical nurse, and she said the information below, which you appear to be mocking, is actually medically accurate. Masks are most effective to reduce the spread of illness when worn by people who are already infected because it prevents aerosolized virus-containing body fluids from being coughed and sneezed into the air. But if you’re not sick, even an N 95 mask will not stop the virus if you do not have a 100% airtight seal, and a mask provides 0% protection against the virus entering through your eyes. Plus, if the virus should happen to land on the exterior of the mask, as soon as you touch the mask with your hands to adjust or remove it, you’ve now transferred the virus to your hands, and how do you get off? Can careless for politics right now. I want MotoGP that’s all I care. If the big deal is the crowds then why can’t Dorna plan the event for the riders to race without fans. Where ever they go! Majority of the countries has impose same travel restrictions for people traveling from Italy. Few days ago there was a soccer match were Italian vs Spain played against each other without no fans and No press conference, due to the virus. Another game is scheduled in the next two weeks without any fans until they find a solution. Formula 1 will also has to find a solution. This whole thing is crazy! As much as that all red race series appeals to me the special scientific committee ordered by the Italian prime minister have suggested to stop all sporting events for one month due to #coronavirus outbreak. I would not be surprised if this comes to pass. They are taking this deal full on seriously. At the end of the day I suspect Italy will be applauded by the WHO and other countries for how they handled this. Much to the surprise of every Italian I have spoken to, who in general don’t expect excellence of any kind from government. But they all seem impressed with how it’s being handled. Okay, here is a rare moment. I agree with Lan. I have no idea about the kind of considerations taken to make decisions like whether or not to cancel an event. Las Fallas, which is a huge event here in Valencia, is still happening, with thousands of people all crowding together to watch different events daily for the next 2 weeks. I avoid touching things others touch, avoid touching my face, and wash my hands regularly. If I get sick, I will let you know. Meanwhile, I am hoping for good racing in the lower classes this weekend.
