Hi all,

I am putting together a program of releases from 2021 that I really

love.  I sent some of you my “Top Ten” list already (and I attach it again
here, to this e-mail), but also, here is the blurb for KCBX In-Concert that
I’m preparing for December 29.  The music should be really fabulous and
much of it fun.
Katelyn, I have already posted this blurb on the site that Greg set up for
us. It’s all done, as you will see.

Happy Holidays to everyone!

Craig

KCBX In Concert with host Craig Russell
New Year’s (almost), December 29, 2021

For Wednesday night’s KCBX In Concert, host Craig Russell celebrates
fabulous releases from this year—2021—relishing the enchanting voice of Sabine
Devieilhe (Saw-BEAN duh-vee-EL) with France’s Pygmalion orchestra as they
perform Bach and Handel.  This year also featured recordings of top-notch
composers “of color” such as Jessie Montgomery, Carlos Simón, (CAR-lows
see-MOAN), Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, and the jazz-tinged Gonzalo Grau
(GO-n-SAW-lo
GROU [as in “ouch”]) and Vijay Iyer (VEE-jay EE-yer) with his trio.  Craig
will also dabble in some Icelandic choral composers as sung by VOCES8
(VOH-chase
eight) and the Finnish super-group Club for Five. He will round out the
year with recordings by the female vocalists Sarah Jarosz (juh-ROSE),
Judith Hill, and Caroline Shaw.
