I realized there was no Ducati content but it’s Easter, we are locked in our houses and that church is enough on its own, add Bocelli and well, seemed like I should share. Lol at least it’s Italian.

It was blissful- we’re Bocelli fans anyway, but this church.....!!! It’s taken 600 years to construct it to what it is today!!! I. Must. Go.

That church.... So in the early 90’s I was making my first trip to Italy, for this motorcycle show I had heard was a must see. Even now EICMA is something to see but back then, well, so many people rode there (it was at a different place then, inside Milan) there were bikes parked everywhere for what seemed like miles. And on EICMA weekend on Sunday I heard that they preformed “the blessing of the bikes” at the church. I had visited the church early in my stay and it made a huge impression on me. Honestly I’d never seen anything like it, and it’s hard to see that monument to faith and not feel some of it in that church. I wanted to see the “Blessing”.
Sunday am we went early so we could go up on the roof of the church. The plaza in front of the Duomo is huge and bikes started rolling in early and they just kept coming. The front row was all the Carabinieri police bikes, lined up inches apart and straight as a razor, must have been close to 50 of them. The roof was a birds eye view so we stayed there watching the piazza fill with hundreds of crazy Italian bikes, everything you could imagine and all age riders. I took a photo of a guy on a vintage Moto Guzzi Galeto who looked about 90. About 11 am a priest started the blessing from the roof with a PA system. By then we were in the plaza, I wanted to be included in the blessing which I wasn’t certain applied to visitors on the roof.
It was pretty epic. Or just another day in Italy. Probably both.

It was so nice of him to do that. Delightful singing I had chills when he
sang Ave Maria.
The emptiness in the church as the shits of empty cities was very eerie
though.

Well, if you're going there, put La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona on your
