Longest unsupported trip as a younger man, Ithaca, NY to Redwood Valley, CA, on a Honda 350 :-)
Leather Jacket, Jeans and the high black lace up cop motorcycle boots as attire.
Outside frame back pack tied to the sissy bar with clothes, tools to change oil, extra tire tube and chain.
Didn’t need the tube or the chain as that 350 was bullet proof.  Changed the oil on the side of the road a few times.
Also had camping stove for meals on the road but no camping gear as trip was scheduled to stay at relatives/friends on the way.
I think I recall just having one of those cheap yellow rain suits that I don not think was ever used as we timed the trip with the weather,

Last long trip, Trumansburg, NY to Indianapolis for the MotoGP race on the K75.
Change of clothes and rain gear and I think snacks and WATER was all I carried as it was just supposed to be long day trips.
Trip out was fine but coming back it rained and rained and rained…so good RAIN GEAR is a must for me.
I was soaked to the bone even with the rain gear and only made it as far PA before stopping for the night at a hotel….

Sounds like a fun trip.  Enjoy and be safe and sane out there….  Brent

72, 250 pretty good survivor that runs really well and has been cleaned up but not restored because originality counts.  Fresh rubber installed and a front fender being painted as we speak.  Comes with a Vermont transferable registration.  Located in PA and owned by a true enthusiast.

$2750 and she?s yours. Quick pic here:  https://photos.app.goo.gl/xJnMTkgvnNYNjg8G8

Hey folks,
I know some, many of you are Likely almost IronButt-ers.
Lots of advice on the internets, but I?m asking you...
What?s the longest u supported ride you?ve taken and how did you pack?

By unsupported, I mean.. you rode your bike without a trailer or chase truck.

Soon, I?m heading out to visit my mother in Scott?s Valley, CA, from Virginia... solo.
I?ll be taking my Kawasaki Concours.. with bags and a top case, and my credit card, of course. Yes. I read Neal Peart?s Ghost Rider. I?m not traveling like he did. (RIP Neal)

Y?all have good collective knowledge.
Thanks in advance.
..Tom

I have noticed a tendency to take chances and be ok with unpreparedness is
a trait of the younger rider. Plenty of trips with bad or no proper gear,
now I need a nice AirBnB, heated grips, and USB chargers etc. :)
