Hi everyone,

I have an update to our COVID policy for ALL STAFF and VOLUNTEERS who enter
the building at 4100 Vachell Lane. Please read this entire email. An
updated studio hygiene protocol is attached, along with a new policy for
communicable illnesses such as flu, cold, and COVID-19, which includes some
of the details below. Please read both attachments thoroughly.

There have been many instances where fully vaccinated/boostered people have
tested positive for COVID, with NO signs of any symptoms. We all need to be
vigilant and careful, so we don’t spread the virus or get sick ourselves.

If you develop symptoms of a communicable illness such as flu, cold or
COVID-19, stop coming into KCBX immediately. Wait 5 days to be tested, and
share the results of your test with your supervisor. Report rapid home test
results to County Health, as well.

If you are fully vaccinated and you have been in close contact (within 6
feet for a total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period) with someone
who has COVID-19 and are not up-to-date on vaccination, you must
quarantine, but may be eligible to return to KCBX after 3-5 days if you
meet certain criteria (see attached policy).

KCBX will accept the results of Rapid COVID tests. But I urge you to use
PCR testing, as well. Unfortunately it is now taking 3-5 days for PCR
results. At 1pm today, I was able to schedule an appointment at 2:30pm
today.  Here is information about free testing sites around SLO County. You
must register to sign up for tests.
https://www.slocounty.ca.gov/COVID-19/COVID-19-Testing.aspx

We continue to require all staff and volunteers to be vaccinated and have
all eligible boosters to come into the station. We don’t anticipate that
requirement going away anytime soon.

We are looking for sources to obtain a supply of rapid tests. You can order
4 rapid tests per household
via the government. https://www.covidtests.gov/
. Remember that only household addresses work. Not PO Boxes or work
addresses (I tried our work address).

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you and stay healthy!

Frank
