Hello, folks. It’s sure weird how all of our lives have changed so suddenly and dramatically over the last few weeks. Everything has changed, and there is a new norm, even though though there’s no way you’d expect to use the work normal in times like this. I express my deepest hopes for all of us and everyone on our planet to weather this storm as best as the cards have it for us. I know I’m not the only one who is missing many things in their lives that they took for granted before this unimaginable thing happened. Pretty safe to say that it’s the most unimaginable thing that could ever not possibly be imagined. Never in our lives have we been in more need of diversions/breaking up of the “new” routine/looking for small things that can take us away from the forefront of our daily brainwaves/a few moments of “ignorant bliss”. Among all of these things we miss, at least based on the common passions in this group is motorsports, and most specifically, MotoGP. I’m sure this is not a unique thing, but my brother Pags and I have embarked on just such a diversion. We have, for many years, for every race humanly possible, even when we might be away from home tried to “watch” every MotoGP race together. On a number of occasions, I have ridden to his home in PA to watch the race in person with him and his two young rider/racer sons. Pags live in Bethlehem, PA, and myself in North Jersey. Shout out to Phil in Oradell, wherever he is in Oradell, NJ, about 10 minutes from my house! We have a constant text thread going on during the race, and although it’s not to the extent that we can’t enjoy the race because of constant texting, we really have a close common feel for each other in the emotions of the race, and text when we need to. Sometimes we go a couple of laps in “silence”, and other times are blazing away at the phone going nuts. Accordingly, we decided to pick a season from some year ago, and periodically watch each race in that season, following the schedule of the given year. We chose 2006 as a start, and although I’m technically late in making this announcement/inquiry with the group because we watched the first race in Jerez this morning, wanted to put this out there. It was so much fun, and virtually like watching it for the first time again, which was amazing. The riders from the era, the teams, the bikes, the styles, THE YOUNGSTERS! A youthful Nick Harris! Just crazy. SO-it occurred to me a short time ago that we could do the same with the list, although not in real time, of course, but Pags/myself could be the "admin" of sorts in announcing the schedule over the season, and just like “regular” racing, a No Spoiler conversation could be had amongst us to provide banter about the heroics we witnessed during the race, and it could offer some diversion for many people, and take our minds off the concerns of the moment. As mentioned, we saw Jerez this morning, and are planning on “watching” Round 2 from 2006 at Qatar tomorrow morning, so I’m going to start a 14 yr old “NO SPOILER” thread after the race, and I’d be thrilled if anyone cares to chime in and have some fun. I have a wonderful feeling about this, and I hope it strikes a chord with someone and they join in. Either way, thank you to everyone who contributes to the conversations, and as always want to acknowledge that none of this would be happening without Miss Vicki. Even in the best of times, this list/group has been a great part of my life in developing a good number of friendships that have never been face to face, ouple that were face to face, and a couple who have become special friends like Pags and Harlyn (miss ya buddy!)  Stay safe everyone, and I look forward to some racing banter this year!

No spoiler.
I can't believe it. You watched Jerez yesterday, and you are watching Qatar
tomorrow?
First, they never have two races two days in a row. How would they get all
the equipment there so fast, and how could there be Free Practice and
Qualifying?
And, Qatar is always Round 1. Always.
But, okay, I'm in. Tomorrow, Qatar. And, if I watch it first (I'm in Spain
now), I promise no Spoiler.

Well, I apologize.
Qatar was the second race that year.
I jumped the gun just a bit there; guess I'll have to do a aride through.

Not a spoiler, hahaha.

I just watched the race. Good one. Great to see and remember Nicky.

I had to laugh when the commentator wondered aloud if Rossi was going to
retire next year. 14 years later, they are still asking the same question.

And, Qatar is always Round 1. Always.

few moments of “ignorant bliss”. Among all of these things we miss, at
least based on the common passions in this group is motorsports, and

most

specifically, MotoGP. I’m sure this is not a unique thing, but my

brother

Pags and I have embarked on just such a diversion. We have, for many

years,

for every race humanly possible, even when we might be away from home

tried

to “watch” every MotoGP race together. On a number of occasions, I have
ridden to his home in PA to watch the race in person with him and his

two

young rider/racer sons. Pags live in Bethlehem, PA, and myself in North
Jersey. Shout out to Phil in Oradell, wherever he is in Oradell, NJ,

about

10 minutes from my house! We have a constant text thread going on

during

the race, and although it’s not to the extent that we can’t enjoy the

race

because of constant texting, we really have a close common feel for

each

other in the emotions of the race, and text when we need to. Sometimes

we

go a couple of laps in “silence”, and other times are blazing away at

the

phone going nuts. Accordingly, we decided to pick a season from some

year

ago, and periodically watch each race in that season, following the
schedule of the given year. We chose 2006 as a start, and although I’m
technically late in making this announcement/inquiry with the group

because

we watched the first race in Jerez this morning, wanted to put this out
there. It was so much fun, and virtually like watching it for the first
time again, which was amazing. The riders from the era, the teams, the
bikes, the styles, THE YOUNGSTERS! A youthful Nick Harris! Just crazy.
SO-it occurred to me a short time ago that we could do the same with

the

list, although not in real time, of course, but Pags/myself could be

the

"admin" of sorts in announcing the schedule over the season, and just

like

“regular” racing, a No Spoiler conversation could be had amongst us to
provide banter about the heroics we witnessed during the race, and it

could

offer some diversion for many people, and take our minds off the

concerns

of the moment. As mentioned, we saw Jerez this morning, and are

planning on

“watching” Round 2 from 2006 at Qatar tomorrow morning, so I’m going to
start a 14 yr old “NO SPOILER” thread after the race, and I’d be

thrilled

if anyone cares to chime in and have some fun. I have a wonderful

feeling

about this, and I hope it strikes a chord with someone and they join

in.

Either way, thank you to everyone who contributes to the

conversations, and

as always want to acknowledge that none of this would be happening

without

Miss Vicki. Even in the best of times, this list/group has been a great
part of my life in developing a good number of friendships that have

never

been face to face, ouple that were face to face, and a couple who have
become special friends like Pags and Harlyn (miss ya buddy!)  Stay safe
everyone, and I look forward to some racing banter this year!

Exactly. Just ask yourself, how many of the riders in that grid, who are
still alive (RIP Nicky) are still in the grid today?

For me, it was great to see Nicky racing again. I forget how good a rider
he was. And, being a Loris Capirossi fan and a Dani Pedrosa fan, it was
good to Loris near the front , and Dani getting so much camera time in his
battle with Melandri.

crazy.

SO-it occurred to me a short time ago that we could do the same with

the

list, although not in real time, of course, but Pags/myself could be

the

"admin" of sorts in announcing the schedule over the season, and just

like

“regular” racing, a No Spoiler conversation could be had amongst us

to

provide banter about the heroics we witnessed during the race, and it

could

offer some diversion for many people, and take our minds off the

concerns

of the moment. As mentioned, we saw Jerez this morning, and are

planning on

“watching” Round 2 from 2006 at Qatar tomorrow morning, so I’m going

start a 14 yr old “NO SPOILER” thread after the race, and I’d be

Either way, thank you to everyone who contributes to the

their lives that they took for granted before this unimaginable

thing

small

things that can take us away from the forefront of our daily

at

and

most

specifically, MotoGP. I’m sure this is not a unique thing, but my

brother

Pags and I have embarked on just such a diversion. We have, for

many

years,

for every race humanly possible, even when we might be away from

home

tried

to “watch” every MotoGP race together. On a number of occasions, I

have

ridden to his home in PA to watch the race in person with him and

his

two

young rider/racer sons. Pags live in Bethlehem, PA, and myself in

North

NJ,

about

10 minutes from my house! We have a constant text thread going on

during

the race, and although it’s not to the extent that we can’t enjoy

the

race

because of constant texting, we really have a close common feel for

each

other in the emotions of the race, and text when we need to.

Sometimes

we

go a couple of laps in “silence”, and other times are blazing away

at

the

phone going nuts. Accordingly, we decided to pick a season from

some

year

ago, and periodically watch each race in that season, following the
schedule of the given year. We chose 2006 as a start, and although

I’m

technically late in making this announcement/inquiry with the group

because

we watched the first race in Jerez this morning, wanted to put this

out

there. It was so much fun, and virtually like watching it for the

first

time again, which was amazing. The riders from the era, the teams,

the

bikes, the styles, THE YOUNGSTERS! A youthful Nick Harris! Just

crazy.

SO-it occurred to me a short time ago that we could do the same

with

the

list, although not in real time, of course, but Pags/myself could

be

the

"admin" of sorts in announcing the schedule over the season, and

just

like

“regular” racing, a No Spoiler conversation could be had amongst us

to

provide banter about the heroics we witnessed during the race, and

it

could

offer some diversion for many people, and take our minds off the

concerns

of the moment. As mentioned, we saw Jerez this morning, and are

planning on

“watching” Round 2 from 2006 at Qatar tomorrow morning, so I’m

going

to

start a 14 yr old “NO SPOILER” thread after the race, and I’d be

thrilled

if anyone cares to chime in and have some fun. I have a wonderful

feeling

about this, and I hope it strikes a chord with someone and they

join

in.

Either way, thank you to everyone who contributes to the

conversations, and

as always want to acknowledge that none of this would be happening

without

Miss Vicki. Even in the best of times, this list/group has been a

great

part of my life in developing a good number of friendships that

have

never

been face to face, ouple that were face to face, and a couple who

have

become special friends like Pags and Harlyn (miss ya buddy!)  Stay

safe

everyone, and I look forward to some racing banter this year!
