I bought my 998S used, and I believe that the headstock was adjusted to the steeper track setting (23.5). There are no steering stops engaged.
I asked the dealer to set it up for the street (24.5), and when I got it back, it still does not hit the stops. The damper was set on the forward hole causing the other end to rub on the tank. They assure me it was set properly, but I moved the damper back to the lower hole, and now it's exactly perpendicular to the tank and looks visually correct. It's not possible to be set for the street without engaging the steering stops, is it. The manual is vague, Haynes is vague. I've got the pin wrench. Shall I just do it myself?Paul D998s Bayliss
