Thanks again to Len Swindley for another great addition to CTI!

Hi Jim,
I must thank you guys - Len, Elwyn and others - for putting so much info
into COTY. I have found it useful in tracing names and confirming stuff
from other sources. Cross-checking being so important. I can now verify
my father's ancestors back to the beginning of the 19thC in Co. Tyrone
and my mother's back to the late 18thC in Co. Londonderry. Very many
thanks for your efforts. How do you find the time? My wife's line
however, goes back, via the Isle of Anglesey, Wales to William the
Conqueror and even earlier to before the 8thC. (I gave up at that stage!)
It's so interesting to discover why family members moved, or didn't, and
what their lives were like then. Their jobs, living conditions,
religious and other affiliations. Fascinating. The Diaspora of our
families now spans the globe. Some were pioneers in the West and East
Hemispheres. The history of their times make for interesting reading and
fleshes out the family story. The picture it paints gives one a clearer
perspective of today's problems and what we find difficult, hard or
unjust. So chastening!
For information, I have almost 9000 names in the db and more yet to
enter, thanks to the support of others in the extended family. These I
have written up in an illustrated family history as a web site, not on
the internet but private (to protect the innocent ;), with cross-links
and supplementary data. This allows for easy updating and correction.
The printed book runs to around 1500 pages.
Keep it up!
Gordon

I have to agree with both Gordon and yourself in that this site is
amazing and I also send my deepest regards to those who contribute so
much material & especially to Len Swindley who is such a remarkable man
to spend so much time and effort giving others Genealogy pleasure -
offering chances to add to their Trees. 👍 I hope they find some
satisfaction in their work & understand how much we all appreciate them.
Cheers,
