I have a stock one from a 2014 Streetfighter 848 (also a 2002 748 oem) you
can have for shipping cost if it fits.

Hey everyone. If anybody is going to MotoGP this weekend and has an
opportunity to find a clutch cylinder for a 2008 Hypermotard, I’m in
somewhat desperate need of one. I don’t know what other years/models will
fit, but I’m halfway between Giddings and Austin and this one’s both
leaking and losing pressure.
Any help is appreciated!

True. The stalling issue seems to be fuel related, like I have trash in
the filter (damn near the ONLY service item I haven’t swapped out in the
last few months), but it is strange that it’s only cropped up at the same
time, rather than, say, *last week *when I could have done something about
it.
Riding back to Houston from Austin *after *MotoGP usually means lots of
traffic, so I may actually have to skip the GP (which is, as you might
imagine, annoying as hell given the ticket price, hotel stay, etc.).
Unfortunately, for the 2008 machines, Ducati fitted a starter interrupt so
you cannot start the bike in gear. This means I’ll have to start it in
neutral at a light and slam it into gear to get going if the cylinder dies
completely. Fun times!
Thanks everybody for their help and advise. I’ve given up on getting a
slave cylinder here by tomorrow (2pm overnight shipping cutoff, usually). I
still find it funny that the entirely of the MotoGP racing crews and many,
many vendors are here in Austin but I can’t find either a stock or
replacement cylinder. A little ironic.

In traffic and at lights yeah it sucks, but it is doable. Helps with a
buddy providing a gap too!

Might sound weird but if you push the bike while it’s running to a decent
speed you may be able to snick it into 2nd and then just clutch less shift
as necessary. Tricky and not ideal but I’ve done worse in a pinch for sure.
Not sure how far you have to ride so gas stops and lights will suck but
you start to figure out how to manage them if you time it all right.
Good luck!
