Hi all,

Two Broads Ciderworks tagged KCBX in an Instagram post that says they’ve
picked CAUSE (Central Coast Alliance United for a Sustainable Economy) as
the nonprofit in October that will receive proceeds from their “Three
Broads Brunch” and” Three C’s Picnic,” where they pair their excellent hard
cider with delicious local food as a fundraiser for a good cause each
month.

They also suggested their followers check out our “Beyond the Furrows”
series about farmworkers that you may have heard during Morning Edition and
All Things Considered over the last 12 weeks. That’s where they learned
about CAUSE, which works for “ social, economic, and environmental justice
for working-class and immigrant communities in California’s Central Coast.”

If you haven’t heard “Beyond the Furrows” yet, I highly recommend it.
Francisco, Ben, Lauren and I (but most especially Francisco!) worked hard
on it, and we’re very proud of this series. Here’s a link:
https://www.kcbx.org/programs/beyond-furrows. The first one is at the
bottom of the page, and the most recent one is at the top. I recommend
listening in order.

Two Broads Ciderworks is a longtime supporter of KCBX, and co-owner Maggie
answers calls for us during pledge drive every year. To support a great
local business and CAUSE, you can order at
https://twobroadscider.com/collection/cider-experience.  Three Broads
Brunch, preorder by October 12, pick up October 17 . Three C’S Picnic,
preorder by October 11, pick up October 15, 16, 17.

Cheers!

Marisa

I just finished listening to all 12 episodes of the “Beyond The Furrows” series.  Great
job by all who participated.  If you have the time, check it out.
Also, the cider produced by Two Broads Ciderworks is as good as it gets.  Again,
if you have the inclination, check it out.
