You did a fantastic job on these, Jim, and a big thanks to Julia for making
them available.

But am I the only one who is both elated and yet also slightly deflated
when I see such extensive family narratives?

Elated because I am delighted for those whose family it is and definitely
green with envy, wishing they were mine.  But also, as a researcher who has
been working on genealogies for over twenty years, whose computer is
littered with family trees that show only one, or perhaps two people, at
the top of the tree, who I am able to discern through the mists of time
back beyond that almost insurmountable1800 barrier, when I see such a
plethora of 18th century names, or the histories of the 11 children born to
a couple between 1817 and 1837, I realise just how inadequate my trees are,
and how limited my research is.

Whatever, I am not likely to give up now, partly because so few of us have
that elusive "family bible", or those journals and letters available to
Julia.

Keep pegging away folks!

Thanks for your compliments, Boyd; however, Julia deserves all the credit
for sharing this data so willingly.

Good genealogy is all about the sharing of information. Julia would not
have had this information without others willingly sharing it with her!
Likewise, I would not have 90% of my family history without sharing.

We, at CTI, only wish more of our supporters would come forward with some
of their data "hoard" which we can share with everyone.
