An the answer was bad fuel lines on the pump and a glob a foreign material
in the filter..  Replaced all the lines and the filter.  Put in some fresh
race gas and Boom back to life.  I did manage to cut  the pump assembly
gasket to the tank and had to use my emergency spare...  I hope it holds as
it is a few years old...

Thanks all the house smell like race gas :-)

Cheers,
Eric

A friend had a similar problem several years ago and the fuel line inside
the tank coming off the fuel filter feeding fuel to the injectors/throttle
bodies had cracked and come off...so no fuel was getting to the engine...

Given  your attempt with starter fluid...that may not be the issue...do you
smell fuel??

Greeting all,

I have had a 97 748 since 1998  and while she has not been trouble free over
the last 40K miles she does always start..But not today..She did run back in
November when I did the oil and filter.

The battery is good and she does prime when I it click it to start.  I
changed the relays under the seat any way As I had them and they have failed
in the past. I also put in fresh plugs just in case.

The main and starter fuses are good but WTH I changed them any way.
Fuel lines are tight and secure under the tank  and the battery connections
are clean and tight.

I though I would ask for ideas of things to check as the only other thing I
can think of is the hall effect sensor spacing..I have not check that yet
though..

Any other ideas?  The bike cranks but will not pop or bang even with ether
starter fluid witch leave me to think it may be an ignition issue.

Many thanks for your input..

Eric
