Dec 21 Los Lobos “Arbolito de Navidad” KCRW, Los Angeles Los Lobos researched holiday songs from North, South and Central America before recording their first ever holiday album in Spanish. This performance was recorded for KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic. Dec 22 JD McPherson (full session) WNXP, Nashville JD McPherson translated his rockabilly sound into an album of original holiday songs. He shares a few of those at WNXP’s Sonic Cathedral. Dec 27 Myron Elkins “Hands To Myself” WNRN, Charlottesville An artist who gave up working as a professional welder to pursue music full time, Myron Elkins shares a song from his full length debut which comes out early next year. Dec 28 Alex G. (full session) WNXP, Nashville Alex G. plays acoustic versions of two songs from his ninth studio album, God Save the Animals, at WNXP’s Sonic Cathedral. Dec 29 Sophie B. Hawkins “Balloon” Mountain Stage, West Virginia Sophie B. Hawkins is best known for her 90’s hit “Damn, I Wish I was Your Lover.” She is also known for her activism for animal rights, environmental and social causes. This performance was recorded on Mountain Stage in West Virginia.
