Dave,
I have compiled three Maxwell files (Tyrone, Londonderry & Donegal - which includes the Birdstown data) which are almost in a state for sending to Jim; there were many families across the three counties. Am just looking for a little time check the final formatting......other files seem to take priority (including the 30+ years to complete the Ardstraw file of marriages).

Thanks, Len

This is a fascinating insight into how we can glean "unknown information" from a multitude of sources!

I have made a note to pop these into a Maxwell Family Notes page for Jim to upload on our website.

Take care

Dave

Dear Listers

No -- I'm not referring to yesterday's rugby match between Ireland and Scotland, at Murrayfield, more of a modern day battlefield ...

Spotted as a new information source on Ancestry.com …..

All Scotland, Burial Monument Inscriptions, 1507-2019

Could be very helpful if you’re chasing after folks who were (or may have been) buried in Scotland.

I tried a quick search using generic terms like “Londonderry”, “Tyrone” and “Donegal”.  Several entries popped up, including (as a taste):

CONWAY                        Cookstown, co. Tyrone

GILMOUR                      Londonderry

MAXWELL                      Birdstown, co.Donegal

MITCHELL                      Armagh

QUIN                              Creggen House, Cookstown, co. Tyrone

Extract examples below.

Hope this helps someone.  It’s very special when we find details of an Irish Colleen who was born 1797/98, or even in 1830 …..
