Now I'm not comparaing myself to anyone who has does or ever will race
motoGP or any other professional racing for that metter except to say we
probably all have nostrils. I won't even qualtify an amount.
But.
A couple years after I was involved in a crash back in '06 ("accident"
refers to an event that lacks a culpable party), I was back on 2 wheels.
Pretty quickly after I kept hearing the same commentary about "I can't
believe you would still ride after what happened to you" (in fairness, the
president of our local Ducati club and my brother both stopped riding
(public roads) as a direct result of the crash... -It WAS bad but I didn't
have to look at myself) I formed a standard answer that pretty much
silenced all naysayers. Riders and "cagers" alike.
"That crash cost me more money than I'll ever know as well as my ability to
make a living, took away at least as much of my health, which will
become more noticeable every year I'm alive. I'm not letting that man (not
the word I used) take motorcycling from me as well.
Pretty much forces people to understand my perspective on the subject.
PS- Isn't "naysayers" a cool word? I need to use it more.
PPS- I've noticed I write words backwards sometimes, which is new. But
that's what mirrors are for...
Ride well!
