I”m searching for a baptismal or birth record for Joseph Marshall Bella (sometimes spelled Betta, in error). My mother is 94 and would like to find out more.

He was born in 1843 or 1844, in the district of Coledon Co Tyrone Ireland to parents Thomas Bella (1821-1907) and Mother Mary Ann (1815-1891) both born in Ireland. Just before birth record began. We are looking for a record of his birth in church archives, if anyone comes across him, could they let me know, or let me know where to search and I’ll come over and have a look.

The family moved to the UK early in his life and lived in Liverpool from 1860s till his death in 1914.

If any local reseachers have time, I”d be willing to cover their time if they’d look for me?

There’s a Thomas Bella listed in Griffiths Valuation for Main St, Caledon in 1860. That might be your family if they were still in Ireland:

Birth registration didn’t start till 1864 in Ireland. Prior to that you need to search church records. You didn’t say what denomination the Bella family was. The parish for Caledon is Aghaloo. The Church of Ireland records start in 1791 Methodists (baptisms only) in 1815, Minterburn Presbyterian has baptisms from 1829 and marriages from 1819 and the RC records start in 1846. The RC records are on-line on the nli site. For the Church of Ireland and Presbyterian records there’s a copy in PRONI in Belfast. The Methodist records are still held by the church.

I searched the statutory records 1864 to 1901 but did not find a single Bella birth, death or marriage in Ireland. Clearly not a common name.

You can use the Valuation revision records on the PRONI site to see when Thomas ceased to be the tenant of the property in Caledon, and who replaced him.
