Hi everyone,

Given the increasing # of COVID cases, I want to remind everyone that we
should still be following protocols set in place months ago. Our protocol
and policy docs are attached here. We’ll be reviewing and updating them, if
necessary, after Live Oak. Please read them and also the message below.

Unfortunately, Donna (get well soon, Donna!) tested positive for COVID the
morning after pulling an afternoon shift earlier this week. She didn’t feel
sick until later in the evening after being at KCBX. Although we were
masked, anyone who came in contact with her should take a COVID test five
days after the possible exposure (that would be Monday).

We need to pay attention to how we conduct ourselves outside KCBX in the
context of keeping everyone at KCBX safe. Masking and awareness are keys to
staying healthy, especially with the highly transmissible variants.
According to the CDC, the most effective masks are N95 or KN95, but N95
masks offer “the highest level of protection.” The CDC also makes it clear
that whatever the type, the most important thing is to wear a well-fitting
mask consistently.

I know Carol cleans surfaces in the control room and kitchen every day that
she’s here. You should too.

Any visitors coming into the station should know they need to be masked and
feeling well.

If you have any questions, or need clarification, please let me know.

Thanks,

Frank
