Hi all!

Please welcome our new part-time reporter, Sarina Grossi. She’s a Cal Poly
Journalism senior who got her radio news chops at KCPR, where she is also
still a reporter. She is currently the digital manager of the Mustang Media
Group and was the editor-in-chief of her community college newspaper.
Sarina had her first story on KCBX today, and it sounded great!

We’ve had some changes in the newsroom lately. Gabriela Fernandez is now
the news director, Amanda Wernik is now a full-time reporter, and Kim
Foster is coaching and assisting with news stories. We also still have our
tried and true freelancer Beth Thornton in Santa Barbara. Melanie Senn did
some excellent freelancing for us, but she’s going to take a break to help
with her family’s business (she promised she’ll come back). In addition, we
have regular interns and fabulous editorial support and training from the
California Newsroom (a collaboration of NPR and KQED, along with public
media around the state).

Go team!

Marisa
