I have researched the Knox Patton families extensively for three different
US clients and have a lot of info on them. I am not at my pc now but will
respond later. You can also check my Fb page below.

Marsha,
It seems that Clady Presbyterian Church no longer exists:
https://www.cotyroneireland.com/marriages/clady.html
https://www.ardstrawpresbyterian.org/church-history.html
The Knox Family
Walter Knox had at least two children, James Patton Knox, who married
Minnie Young in Linn, Iowa in 1880 and John Knox, who married Rose
Cunningham in 1881 in Ames, Iowa.
Walter Knox had at least 8 siblings, Jane, John, James, William, Hugh,
David, Margaret and Martha.
Walter's parents were James Knox, d1845 and Martha Wilson, 1795-1872.
Walter's grandparents were Walter Knox and Margaret McCrea.
Walter's great grandfather was Robert Knox of Glentimon. Robert Knox is
the 4xgreat grandfather of Maggie Kuska, for whom I did the original
research in 2015, so she will be your distant cousin.
The Patton Family
Mary Patton is the daughter of James Patton of Seein/Sion, near Sion Mills.
James Patton is probably the son or grandson of Thomas Patton of Seein.
Thomas Patton is the 4xgreat grandfather of Thomas Patton Adams, for whom I
did more research in 2018/19.
A Mark John Adams still lives in the area, who is a cousin of both Maggie
and Patton, and presumably you too.
The photograph shows Patton and Bill Adams at the Patton family grave in
Urney Parish Church.
We would need to communicate by email if you wish to take this any
further. James has my email address or contact me via the links below.

Boyd

Marsha,
There are very few surviving records relating to Clady Presbyterian Church; I have been hoping to find a photograph for thirty years, but with no success.
The congregation was erected in 1741 by a group of members of First Ardstraw Presb and was never large. The congregations reunited in 1884. This was logical as both meeting houses were no more than 2-3kms apart.
I have transcribed the only remaining records for Clady:
Marriages: 1845-71 www.cotyroneireland.com/marriages/clady.htmlhttp://www.cotyroneireland.com/marriages/clady.html
and
Pew Holders and Stipend payers 1862 cotyroneireland.com/churchrecord/CladyPewholders.html#google_vignette
The baptismal register has not survived...................
Hope this helps?

[Walter Knox Mary Patton Marriage (1).jpg]
Len and Boyd: Years ago I was excited to find the County Tyrone site
online and was able to find the transcribed marriage of my great great
grandparents Walter Knox to Mary Patton on 14 Feb 1853. According to
their US Immigration card the newlyweds sailed into Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, United States on 29 May 1853 aboard the "Superior" (
http://www.irishamericanjourney.com/2011/10/irish-ships-to-america.html)
where they started their family. Walter Knox is listed as being 29 years
of age. His Birthdate was not given in either record but could be around
1824. Place of birth unknown. I was sad to see that there are no names of
their mothers on the marriage information records.
Boyd: Thank you for the graveyard picture. I am wondering if Mary Patton
Knox was buried there after she returned from the States in 1860 with her
two little boys, James Patton Knox and my great grandfather John Knox.
Mary Patton Knox died "three days after landing" in Ireland. Her brother
Thomas Patton brought the two boys back to Pennsylvania (Uncle Tom is
written in our family history and census record) where he raised and
educated the two boys, eventually moving them to Iowa where he set them up
in his business. I have the original pictures of the two brothers as
adults and Uncle Tom inside the Thomas Patton coal and lumber office in
Marcus, Iowa. Uncle Thomas also had a business of the same nature in
Primghar, Iowa which was managed by James Patton Knox. John Knox managed
the Marcus business, became the executor of the estate of his uncle and
later inherited the business after Thomas Patton died. The will is also
posted on Ancestry.
I have done extensive family research with the written records and pictures
saved and left to me by my mother Mary Jean Knox Marinello, the only child
of Fred Stanley Knox and Grace Loretta Nield. Her father, my grandfather
Fred Stanley Knox was the youngest of six sons and two unnamed infant girls
born after him to John Knox and Rose Cunningham.Knox. John, Rose, the two
unnamed infant daughters, James Patton Knox known as "JP Knox", his wife
Minnie along with their only son are buried together in one of the Knox
family plots in the Marcus-Amherst cemetery in Marcus, Cherokee, Iowa. JP
and Minnie also had a daughter, who lived to adulthood, married, and died
childless. The information is on the Ancestry account of my brother Jack
Anthony Marinello which he has since made private. It is also listed on
the free site of FamilySearch.org. Pictures of the plots in Marcus were
taken by Jack and myself.
I found a typewritten list made from a family Bible record posted on
Ancestry of the Patton parents James Patton (abt 1796 - 1871) and Mary
Nickel (1802 - 1863) and their children's names with birth and death
dates. I have no such list for the Knox family in Ireland except for
Boyd's list for which I am grateful. Today, 10 Oct, unfortunately both
Ancestry and FamilySearch sites are down. I am eager to add names to the
Knox side of my family. There are also several Patton gravesites in a
different county in Iowa.
Thank you for all your information.
Best regards,
Marsha Heaston

By the way Uncle Thomas Patton never married and never had children...that
I know of and are not mentioned in his will.
