Hello Kerrie,

Thank you for the compliment. I thought of your research when compiling the long list of freeholders. This project took a very long five years to complete as the original lists in the Strabane Morning Post did not identify parishes, just townlands and subdenoninations; it was necessary to juggle with the phonetic spelling, entries within the tithe applotment books and Griffith Valuation to identify the correct townland within the appropriate parish. Only attainable during COVID Lockdown.

Am pleased you are pleased (and perhaps other Tyrone researchers).

These two files complete the series and complement further lists for Strabane and Clogher parishes on CTI
- Applications to Register Freeholds: Barony of Clogher 1829-31
- Applications to Register Freeholds: Donagheady, Leckpatrick & Camus (Strabane) Parishes 1829-31
- Applications to Register Freeholds: Barony of Dungannon 1829-31
- Applications to Register Freeholds: Barony of Omagh 1829-31
- Applications to Register Freeholds: Urney (Part) & Ardstraw (Part) Parishes 1829-32
- Applications to Register Freeholds: Bodoney Lower, Bodoney Upper, Cappagh (Part) & Termonmaguirk (Part) Parishes 1829-32

Also, CTI also contains the Freeholders’ Lists for Raphoe Barony, Co. Donegal - Applications to Register Freeholds in the Barony of Raphoe 1829-31: many farmers in the parishes of Donagheady, Leckpatrick, Camus (Strabane), Urney and Ardstraw held leases in both counties – just a quick row in a boat across the River Foyle separated their leases in the Abercorn Estate.

All the best,
Len Swindley, Melbourne, Australia

Many, many thanks to Len for this amazing list!  I found quite a few possible Caldwell collaterals on it and one Moore.  (Robert H. Caldwell, b. somewhere in Tyrone  ca 1811  d. Bentinck Twp., Grey Co. Ontario 1876 mar. Mary Moore b. ditto Tyrone 1815 d. Bentinck Twp., Grey Co. Ont 1907).

He was a shoemaker and they went to Durham, Ont., Canada in the early 1840s.  They acquired land for a farm just before he died but she carried on with the help of a son and two daughters.  Her sister married Daniel McFadden, also from Tyrone - I seldom see that surname on the Tyrone lists.

And thank you, Jim, for all your work, too.  I am very grateful for the contributions made by you two gentlemen and by everyone else.
