Hi all,
Attached and below is a :60 script announcing the end of our broadcast at
KSBX 89.5 FM. Please read it once per shift between now and 5pm on
Wednesday, 12/28.
Besides this script, you can also share info with your listeners from these
two pages on our website:
https://www.kcbx.org/streaming-kcbx (people can find it by cliking on
“Programs” in our menu and then on “Streaming Help.”
and
https://www.kcbx.org/kcbx-to-end-broadcast-on-89-5-fm-ksbx-in-santa-barbara-station-will-continue-to-serve-region-digitally
(there’s a link at the top of every page on our website that goes to this)
Here’s the script to read once per shift:
This is KCBX Central Coast Public Radio serving San Luis Obispo, Santa
Barbara and Southern Monterey Counties. Due to ongoing and unfixable radio
interference, KCBX will end our broadcast service at 89.5 FM KSBX, serving
the city of Santa Barbara and surrounding areas by 5:00 p.m. this
Wednesday. KCBX will continue to serve the region digitally, and we will
continue to broadcast at 90.9 in Goleta and the Santa Ynez Valley. We will
also continue to serve the rest of Santa Barbara County to the north, at
95.1 and 90.1 FM. If you are affected by the loss of KSBX, we encourage you
to stream KCBX by using your phone or other internet connected device. You
can tell your smart speaker to “play KCBX” or “play NPR.” You can also use
the NPR app or NPR One app. And you can use kcbx.org on your device’s
browser. For more information and streaming instructions visit kcbx.org.
Thanks everyone!

Yes! It will take effect after 5pm on Wednesday, 12/21. I’ll send an email
with new IDs and an updated Formatics sheet for everyone.

Hi All,
To make it easier to get folks to the webpage discussing this change and
ways to stream KCBX, please use "kcbx.org http://kcbx.org slash ksbx."
Again, there is an alert at the top of the website, just below the menu
that will take people there.
Thanks,
Greg
