Crews were working for hours today, changing traffic patterns and striping
along S. Higuera and Vachell Lane.
Thanks to Greg Perry for taking it all in and summarizing below:
As of today, Saturday, Sep 10th, there is no longer a way to pull into
KCBX, Calvary Church, or onto Vachell Lane when travelling south (away from
downtown), on S. Higuera. This is a big change for all of us traveling in
this direction! Not only will it take us longer to get to KCBX, but it will
require us to give our guests instructions on how best to arrive.
The new Buckley Road extension from Vachell Lane to S. Higuera is now open.
If you are headed to KCBX by traveling south on S. Higuera, you will need
to drive to the new intersection about 0.5 miles south of the Los Osos
Valley Rd. intersection, turn left, and then take another left onto Vachell
Lane to get to KCBX.
If you are coming from Broad St. via Tank Farm, it's a shorter route and
faster to take Sante Fe (behind the airport) across to Buckley Rd. and
proceed to KCBX from there.
Up until today, the Buckley Road and Vachell Lane intersection was a 4 way
stop. But now, traffic driving in both direction on Buckley Rd no longer
has stop signs.
Below is a map showing the new traffic patterns installed today at Vachell
and S. Higuera.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
