MIL-ton NAH-see-MEN-toh

Low BOHR-jez

CLUE-bay Dah Es-KEY-nya

How’d I do, Portuguese-speakers? Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!

A Brazilian music collective made this landmark album in 1972. I got turned
onto it by an article on Pitchfork, which provides me with tons of info
about both new and vintage music. It’s one of my most informative sources.

Here’s that Pitchfork article:

Neal's taking time off, making some wine for the next couple of weeks. I'm
filling in - he asked me to send out the AOTW email.

Cat Clyde - Down Rounder
https://catclydeband.bandcamp.com/album/down-rounder  -
Americana/Folk/Blues

Cat Clyde is the real deal. She's out of Stratford, Ontario. This is her
third album, and she really comes into her own. She's got a powerful voice,
and a way with a hook. There are some lovely ballads here, too.

My favorite tracks:

  • Everywhere I Go - hooky, twangy, and fun
  • Papa Took My Totems - a rocker about the patriarchy as the
downpressor, which doesn't sound like much fun, but the song is actually a
    blast
  • Mystic Light - The title really describes the song
