Thank you very much for your update of the HOOD notes.

I have ancestors among those references and have over 300 HOODs in my tree, many in “dangling” branches unattached to my known line.
They are all connected with Tyrone but are also spread across Scotland, USA, Canada and Australia.
Your notes give me a lot more to attach to my tree where I can.

I have written a brief history of my HOODs from the Newtownstewart area (Lisnatunny, Straletterdallan, Pubble, etc) which I update periodically.

I’m very happy to share my research of HOOD, FULTON and HENRY from that area with anyone who is interested.

Thanks Bruce,

I hope the additional data to the file added to your knowledge of your Hood forebears. Hood families were numerous in the neighbourhood of Newtownstewart and Strabane, but a lack of surviving seventeenth and eighteenth century records will make it difficult/ impossible to link them.
