Here is a new complaint about Ancestry. There is a serious problem with the latest version of Ancestry, in its search facility. So, why not report it?????? There is no way on their site to report such things. The is a useless Bot on a Chat facility; I got put through to a real person, who hadn’t a clue what I was talking about. They gave me an email address that bounced back from Ancestry saying it was no longer available and to go to their web site….. which has no way of contacting them. There is an an Ancestry Community which you can pay to join. You would have thought they would value feedback to help their quality control….. But no. There must be a secret address somewhere.

For Ancestry users, try doing a Public member tree search and put in “George Moffatt, b. 1806 in Fermanagh, N. Ireland”. It comes up (3rd in the results list) with 39 trees for a George Moffatt born in Co. Clare in 1806 and married in Meath. It gets all his details wrong: if you go to one of the trees that it lists, you can see all the correct information. The search facility is “correcting” all the place names and getting them wrong, which is totally misleading.

So, any suggestions how I can report the problem, without telephoning them and sitting in the queue in the US?

Serious error with Ancestry search facility
