To Me, beyond any question, 46's value to motorcycle road racing is unparalleled. The Goat, perhaps as a racer, I dunno. On the other hand in terms of Promotion, he's certainly the Greatest! If MM's value for "Good of the Sport" is quantified @ 20 then Vale is in triple digits. As to 2020, MM's circumstance is due only to himself. Insofar as MotoGP is concerned it's a huge positive to have a competitive Championship featuring 10 or more pilots who believe they can reign. Much as F1 where the biggest ? is who'll finish 3rd (Mugello was sorta interesting last week though,,,) so too was MotoGP deprived of excitement compliments of the MM domination. 2021 may be very interesting. In the end Marquis Marque will never have aided the cause as 46 has nor will he be remotely as popular and insofar as respect, well, Rossi did it on 500 2-Smokes absent all the elektrickery. That's the real bugg-a-boo for 93 when we start discussing All Time guys. 2020 though is an open contest and VERY interesting, much more so than in recent years.    Phil/NJ

I agree. Rossi has had a clear vision of his and his family’s legacy for a very long time and his value to the sport is not calculable. He is the guy F1 drivers want to hang out with. And his academy is as important to the sport as Kenny Roberts influences were. He and Rossi changed everything that came after. And that’s the difference between a MM or Stoner. VR has a love of the sport, a sense of responsibility and a marketing sense that those guys do not have. Remember when the talk was “the sport is screwed when he retires”? He found a way to fix that, a problem that didn’t seem to have a solution. And that’s why he’s the GOAT. Not just because he won races.
