Kath,

I doubt we have met. I grew in Baltimore and then Philadelphia, but, for
the last 30 years, I have been in California, and only go back to Baltimore
once or twice a year. I suspect, if we ever met, it would have been at one
of the Indy MotoGP races. I attended all, and volunteered for Ducati at
every one.

If we had never met, we have now, and someday I hope we can even bump
elbows or whatever the safe in person greeting will be.

Steve: we (my husband Francis, son, and I) actually moved from Hell’s
Kitchen, temporarily to Astoria, Queens for a year while house hunting, and
finally up to Cortlandt Manor, NY, about 50 min train ride up the Hudson
from Grand Central in NYC. It’s northern Westchester, and about a ten
minute ride to Hudson Valley Motorcycles (owned by Rich Alexander), where
my favorite mechanic, Steve Saucier, manages and tunes all manner of Ducs
and other go-fast bikes. Need to get the yellow beast into the shop and
tuned up to ride again!!

So even if you don’t see me posting so much, I’m still here…and love that
many in the gang are still around after all these years…thanks so much to
Vicki’s unflagging governance and support!!

What fun!  Good race. I did not remember which race from that year

involved

the Dani and Nicky incident, so I was worrying about it for a lot of this
race once they got neck and neck. This is the way racing should be, with

4+

riders all up front, swapping positions, and the winner determined in the
last lap.

Kath, good to have you back in the action. I'm not sure if we ever met

at a

race or not. If not yet, then sometime soon.

KATH!!!!!!!!!! So great to hear from one of my most early track-mates.
Halcyon days back then for sure. Glad to hear that old yeller is still

in

the stable. Crazy that you were at the Istanbul race we just watched.

Makes

me happy that you’re tagging along with Pags and I (and maybe K. Kach).

Are

you still in Hell’s Kitchen? Always loved that geographic designation

;-).

Stay safe

Omg Steve been following this thread you started and loved your kickoff

post to get by in these times…I’ve been lurking all these years, only
dipping in to read here and there, but can’t give up this group I joined
some 25 years ago (wow), even if I barely get any riding time anymore.

Had to chime in for this Istanbul GP though, as I was actually

there…taking a three week motorcycle tour of Turkey, kicked off by

riding

to the MotoGP with my ex on an Aprilia Caponord and a BMW GS 1200. We

made

some great friends and connections on our trip—possibly the best trip

of my

lifetime so far…

Enjoy watching, it was great to be there in person…and unlike so many

GPs, there was plenty of room to watch and explore as the crowds were a
fraction of other European venues.

On a side note…still have the yellow 999, doesn’t get nearly enough

attention, but hoping to get more in when kiddo gets a bit older and
doesn’t want to hang with mom and dad anymore!!

Always nice to see your posts…miss the old Reduc/Sportbike Tracktime

days and catching up to you guys on the track (at least trying!) and

stay

safe, healthy, and keeping the spirits up here on the list!

Distant, but always warm regards,

Loved my days in the Hudson Valley, while stationed at USMA West Point, except for the short street riding season. In addition to endless Enduros on my Hodaka and OSSA, I still managed to put 125K miles on my CB500 four.

I went back up there 5 years ago on my Victory Kingpin, still a lovely area to ride, even rt. 218 between USMA and Cornwall on the Hudson is still a treat.

Hope everyone is safe, looks like I'll have plenty of time to putter on my bikes in t garage for the next several months. - Gene

Hey Kevin,

Not sure we met either…I kinda dropped out after my son was born in 2010 to street riding only…then home ownership/renovation and kid stuff has taken over for the time being!

Steve: we (my husband Francis, son, and I) actually moved from Hell’s Kitchen, temporarily to Astoria, Queens for a year while house hunting, and finally up to Cortlandt Manor, NY, about 50 min train ride up the Hudson from Grand Central in NYC. It’s northern Westchester, and about a ten minute ride to Hudson Valley Motorcycles (owned by Rich Alexander), where my favorite mechanic, Steve Saucier, manages and tunes all manner of Ducs and other go-fast bikes. Need to get the yellow beast into the shop and tuned up to ride again!!

So even if you don’t see me posting so much, I’m still here…and love that many in the gang are still around after all these years…thanks so much to Vicki’s unflagging governance and support!!

Cortland Manor..I used to spend my summers near lake oscawanna when I was a
kid. Bought my first new bike from Curry Honda back in 1977..I had hoped to
go back this summer to visit the area..maybe next year.

What fun!  Good race. I did not remember which race from that year

involved

the Dani and Nicky incident, so I was worrying about it for a lot of

this

race once they got neck and neck. This is the way racing should be,

with

4+

riders all up front, swapping positions, and the winner determined in

the

Always loved that geographic designation

;-).

Stay safe

Omg Steve been following this thread you started and loved your

post to get by in these times…I’ve been lurking all these years, only
dipping in to read here and there, but can’t give up this group I

joined

some 25 years ago (wow), even if I barely get any riding time anymore.

GPs, there was plenty of room to watch and explore as the crowds were

a

fraction of other European venues.
