My first Ducati was a 996 and I slapped on some Termignonis. Loved it. Very unique design, engine power delivery and sound. Replaced it with 749R. Totally different in many ways...

My current Ducati is a 749R too.  In what ways is it different from the 916/996..?

Peer,

Personally, the 749R felt very “long and loose” while the 996 felt compact
and tight as far as riding it into a corner. The 996 though felt heavier.
The power delivery of the 749R to me felt like I had to really squeeze the
throttle to get it going. Sorta felt like a Japanese bike but not quite.
The 996 was quite torquey and had a nice deep growls exhaust sound. The
749R with Termis was very loud! Really sounded like a race bike. It wasn’t
as deep/growling sound but not high pitched. In between. I’m prob
forgetting something but I gotta go..
