I have watched the races this year and is it just me??
But I find VRs lack of Pace very sad and ...well...should he hang it up?? Call it a career??
Are they keeping him on the grid because of his perceived worth to Moto GP??
I would love to see him in the front but all athletes age out of their Sport...is it time?
Is it past time?

First, let me say this: by some measures, finishing 14th in a MotoGP race
means that day you were the 14th fastest motorcyclist on the planet (how
many racers are there?).
Second, in response to the comment about Rossi being the second Yahama and
about the bike not being up to the challenge, the only Yamaha that was
ahead of Rossi was on the podium.
I'm just saying.
BTW, if it keeps going like this, I would say, yes, Rossi should have
retired last year.

As we've said for the past, what, 5 years - count Rossi out at your own
peril.  He's beaten his teammate AND the factory this weekend regardless of
what place he finished, and he's still ahead of a lot of up and comers - 22
total in the race.

I don't think he should have retired last year, and as a 9 time world
champ, I think giving him some leeway on when HE thinks HE should retire is
appropriate...  Maverick better watch his seat though - this is a really
terrible run, and quite honestly I'm surprised the rumor mill didn't start
LAST year about him.

I love the way Pags has phrased it, as he always has- count Rossi out at your own peril. Like every other rider, he can shine when conditions favor him to do so. Other riders in more of their prime than him can shine in a more wide spectrum, but if/when all of “his” planets line up, he can be as much a force to be reckoned with as the next guy. Granted, it’s the rare day for him when that happens these days, but none of the current state of affairs with him can ever take away my admiration, respect and enjoyment of his goat/greatness
