Christian McBride/Edgar Meyer - But Who's Gonna Play The Melody?
https://christianmcbride.bandcamp.com/album/but-whos-gonna-play-the-melody
Bass. In your face. Plucked. Bowed, Two masters. Will work on Jazz, for
sure. But it is worth a listen to see if it will fit on your show. It is
really good. And the title is good, too.
Check it out. Play it.
Thanks,
Neal
Great choice!
Loving this album.
I've played it many times since it entered our currents stack in the category of Jazz.
My favourite tracks are Bass Duo #1, Green Slime and Bebop, of course.
Thanks Neal!

Ciao Neal-
Another interesting album to have on your radar for featured album of the week is "The Power of the Heart - A Tribute to Lou Reed".
It will fit on Morning Cup, Citizen Sound and Speak Low for sure, given the Velvet Underground influence, not to mention Lou Reed's solo career.
More importantly, however, most of the cover artists are KCBX regulars on all of our AAA/Americana programs: Rufus Wainwright, Lucinda Williams, Ricki Lee Jones, Rosanne Cash and Bobby Rush to name a few.
There's something for Citizen Sound from the Afghan Whigs and Maxim Ludwig/Angel Olsen. Plus, the Evening Blues listeners might enjoy Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones.
I have the album on vinyl. I wonder if you all have it in stock at Boo-Boo's as well? Might be something to keep on the radar.
Cheers,
