Charlotte,

There is a most extensive report (two columns) on the sixth annual meeting of Lodge 229  in the Nov 28 1896  edition of the Belfast Newsletter (page 6) and its’ successes and financial situation.

Thank you, Len,

This is very fascinating.
I’m not sure what the chances are of learning about the Water Lily Lodge, but this is very helpful.

Hello Charlotte,

The British Ancient Order of Free Gardeners was a mutual Provident Society founded in Scotland.
The aims of this group are set out in the attached extract from a much larger report.
Hope this is useful?

Hello,
My ancestor was a member of the Water Lily Lodge 229 in Belfast.  I am told that this was the Free Gardeners group, who were modeled after the masons.
Has anyone heard of this organization or have ancestors who belonged?
I am attaching my ancestor’s death announcement that encourages Water Lily Lodge members to attend his funeral.
