Thanks Dave. A component of the history of Ulster that is little known......but with massive implications. I was wondering if I had covered the explanation  adequately. Thanks also to Boyd for another topical item..

Thank you for this information! This is the first ' nugget' that may be
leading me in a new direction in the search for ancestors. While I have
been able to trace the Cunningham's here in Simcoe County Ontario Canada ,
I have been stopped at their emigration from Ireland in 1847.I know their
departure was from Londonderry and I have the ships passenger list to
confirm. However the only thing I have had to go on is a family bible with
my great gr. gr. grandfather's handwritten name- Andrew Cunningham -  and a
location 'Brackagh'. I have based my inquiries around this location which
appears to be south east of Omagh . John is a recurring name in every
generation  including my father's which is so very common it is hard to
determine family connections.
Archibald and John Cunningham are both listed on this commerative plaque as
giving up their positions. It never occured to me to look in the
Londonderry area assuming this was simply their place of departure rather
than residence. The family remained Presbyterian in Canada as well
A breakthrough for me would be to discover Andrew Cunningham  ( 1790
approx.- 1869) ( and my gr.gr.gr grandmother Elizabeth Clark ) parents
names. Perhaps Archibald in Londonderry will present further clues!

Thank you again for this tremendous contribution you are giving to all of
us!

Kind regards
Elizabeth Cunningham - Vervaeke

Hello Elizabeth,

There are three townlands with the name of Brackagh in Co. Tyrone. The one you seem to be looking for is in Errigal Keerogue parish where Andrew and Nathaniel Cunningham are recorded at Brackagh in both the 1832 and 1833 tithe applotment books Index to Tithe Applotment Books for Errigal Keerogue Parish, Co. Tyrone, 1832 (cotyroneireland.com)https://www.cotyroneireland.com/tithe/errigal_keerogue.html and www.cotyroneireland.com/tithe/errigal_keerogue1833.htmlhttp://www.cotyroneireland.com/tithe/errigal_keerogue1833.html
Looks as if you should be focussing on Errigal Keerogue parish.

Regards,
len Swindley
