939 Supersports are a blast. I got one this summer and have enjoyed it
thoroughly. Not mega hp but more than enough. I was reading an article on
how Ducati did in 2019 and they covered almost all the models in the
article except the SS. I feel it is doomed to extinction which is a shame
because it is a real world sportbike. Comfortable but still looks good.
Kind of a Panigale without the pain.

never really spanked that thing really hard before I sold it.
Right now I'm pretty happy with my '96 SS and my Sled. The only bike I

Interceptor. Always wanted one of those. Other than that, pretty happy.

Yes, I test rode one and liked it quite a lot. But I wish Ducati had gone one way or the other with it. Either make it a lot lighter so it's more of an SS or make it faster and more of a sport-tourer mile-muncher. It's actually very much like the Interceptor I mentioned earlier as far as ergos and power. It's a lot more money though of course.
Most of the guys in my local Ducati club are buying either Monsters or Panigales. One guy did buy an SS. You may be right about it being doomed to extinction though. It looks like a Panigale but doesn't have the power or cache of a Panigale. So when guys look at it, they say "might as well buy the Panigale."

The DanMoto is an inexpensive slip on. And, yes, it's pretty much a
straight pipe.
Which Leo Vince model are you considering?

I have not even ridden the bike with the DanMoto system to see how it
feels. I may take it out soon so I can see how the Leo Vince one changes
things. Then I may talk to the service manager at the Charlotte Ducati
dealer. He worked on a few race teams so he is a pretty good tuner.
Besides he helped assemble my first ever Ducati an 851 back in 1990. He
has come a long way since then.

I haven't changed the stock exhaust on my Desert Sled because like you,

My local Ducati tech tells me a slip-on and ECU reflash really wake
these
motors up so that may be in the cards one day.
I put 3,000 miles on my Urban Enduro and I have over 9,000 on my Sled

Hey Mario
I liked the black and gold color better. It might be because I had a
79
SS
that was black and gold. Also I preferred the cast wheels to the
spoke. I
just like the idea of being able to fix a flat while on a ride. They
also
tend to be a lot lighter. I would have liked the updated dash with a
fuel
gauge and the lean angle sensor for the ABS but the cost difference,
almost
$5K and the above preferences drove me away.
The previous owner put one of those DanMoto exhaust slip ons on the
bike.
I would not call it a muffler because it looks very much like a
straight
pipe. I am going to try a Leo Vince slip on to see if I can reduce the
noise to a reasonable level. The one on it has to go. Too old for
that
kind of racket. I ordered a tail tidy so I can get that coal shovel
off
the swing arm.

Hey Bob
Here is what I am getting:
I ordered it from Revzilla it is a stainless steel can that looks like it
should do a lot more than the DanMoto one. The DanMoto is the one that has
one into two system and both tubes, I hesitate to call them mufflers, are
basically empty. Very loud.
