Syl,
Glad you weren't badly injured when you hit the curb.

Subject: Front brake problem on '18 M821
I finally some serious front brake issues resolved on my Monster. It all
began when I came out of my driveway and found out I had zilch front brake,
dumping the bike on the curb across the street. The bike had about 8000
miles on it at the time. It was soon after I returned from my 4300 mile
western loop tour.At Ducati Newport Beach, they bled the lines, but could
not get good pressure, so they got warrantee approval to install a new
master cylinder. Some 600 miles later the brake lever was spongey
again!Back in the shop, it was completely disassembled, reassembled and
bled again. Then it sat for a few days--same spongey lever! Finally the
shop got approval to replace the lines with a new set that had different
fittings with a proper bend exiting the master cylinder and the problem now
appears to be solved. Apparently, after so many miles, the bend in the line
out of the master cylinder resulted in it developing an air leak. It is
likely a recall will be issued.I am thankful to Ducati Newport Beach for
their diligence and their persistence in getting warrantee approvals. I
finally feel safe again. That's good, as I plan to go to the CLASS All
Women's Trackday on April 6 and then to go coast to coast with the
Suffragists Centennial ride this summer, Covid-19 willing. Syl S.2018
